To welcome the New Year, the entire 3Love Inc. team would like to express our resolutions for 2023. Each member of the organization answered the question: What aspect should humanity improve in 2023?

Below, we share the answers of the whole team.

Vincent Gajewski III, President:

“Unity. That is, individuals, groups and countries working together for a common goal”.

Liza Comeford, Vice President:

“I think we need to be more compassionate towards ourselves and others. And not just humans but animals as well. I am proud to be part of 3Love, where we help kids with disabilities and donate food and supplies to the Yesenia Saenz Soup Kitchen, located in Huaycán. Everything we do can help make the world a better place for all of us, and I know we will continue to help others and show compassion to everyone”.

Christopher Gajewski, Treasurer:

“I think being more compassionate with people. Everyone is trying their best to do what they can providing their own experiences in life. We cannot understand and can only imagine what people go through on a daily basis. Everyone is struggling and is trying to improve so be kind and compassionate. Lend a helping ear or hand. Support those you can because life can be really hard and seem unfair. Do not do things out of anger or vengeance because that does not fill the void of pain or grief. We need to improve to better help the lives around us, the people around us and for the sake of earth”.

Rick Reynolds, Member of the Board of Directors:

“Hunger: there are hundreds of thousands of people in this world in every country across the globe that are hungry today and will be hungry tomorrow and the day after that. My goal for humanity would be to be able to feed these people on a regular basis. Starvation is a real thing, and it affects people across the world, not just those who live in remote places such as Africa. It’s only human to want to see these people live and thrive like other people do in this world. But it would take every government to help fund this effort and it could be coordinated by the several “Feed the people” existing organizations. Only then could world hunger begin to lessen and for all those people to get a bare necessity in life- the ability to eat on a daily basis”.

Janeth Martínez, Coordinator:

“There are many aspects to consider in the stark reality of today's world. We always talk about poverty, inclusion, discrimination, oppression and many more aspects that affect society and every individual in the world. How do we improve? I think one factor would be to have more empathy and humility. Empathy to be able to learn from societies different from ours and humility to be able to receive the information and learn from them. Even when societies and people are different there is always something to discover in them. I think when we see someone who is different from us we have a version of who they are and we don't take the time to get to know them especially when we blame technology for our actions. Technology is a double-edged sword: we can use it to achieve many positive things and also to destroy the world”.

Renzo Semorile, Assistant Coordinator:

“I believe that improvement must start with oneself. Since each person in this world lives in different situations, I think it is important to look at our immediate surroundings and try to make it better, either by taking care of the environment, helping others in the different ways we can, treating them well or with respect and above all thanking life for what we have. If we look for common ground to unite us as a society instead of dividing us, we will have taken an important step towards the future”.

José Muñoz, Architect:

“Respect for Human Rights. While it is true that humanity has improved in recent years, we still fall far short. Countries such as the Islamists are constantly violating human rights, especially the rights of women, relegating them to second place. This is the case, to mention just a few, of Iran and Afghanistan. We must do much better in respecting human rights”.

Dorys García, Volunteer - Supplies:

“The most fundamental thing is to take care of the environment and avoid contaminated water to ensure the existence of human life and life in general. We must grow in all aspects of life, to be better people and support our neighbors”.

José Cuba, Volunteer - Transportation:

“The aspect to improve is assertive communication. I believe that if people start communicating in a transparent and objective way, without any ambiguity, what each one is looking for, wants and longs for, many conflicts and quarrels can be avoided. All this is the basis to achieve an objective that is the common good, always thinking of the rest, since currently we see in many countries internal conflicts, that what each one seeks is their own good and forget about the rest of the people. I believe that by communicating what one wants and what one seeks, there can be clarity at the moment of decision making, among others”.

Juan Carlos Ugarelli, Editor and Publisher of the blog:

“I believe that we human beings need to improve our ability to listen and understand others, especially those who are different from us because of their origin, age, gender, sexual orientation, religion, state of health or simply because they think differently. If we put ourselves in their shoes for a moment and try to see the world through their eyes, we will be able to understand them better and find coincidences that will help us work together to make this planet a better home for everyone”.

Introducing our new team members

We would like to welcome Elodie and Nancy, the newest members of the 3Love Inc. family.

Elodie joins our team as a translator. She will translate our articles, interviews, short stories and other texts into Korean. She is the representative of Kore Partners, a marketing consulting & Korean education startup.

What do you expect to be the impact of your contribution to 3Love Inc.?

I expect to introduce 3Love and its projects for human rights to Koreans and help the disabled children in Korea to be self-confident and have dreams.

What aspect should humanity improve in 2023?

I think we should act rather than say in 2023. I had so many ideas to help others and support those who are marginalized. People might already know what they need to do for this world. However we’re not doing it; we’re making excuses. What I learned from 3Love is it taught me that we need to DO even a small act of kindness to change the world.

Nancy Jo joins our team as a teacher of the baking workshop in the Yesenia Saenz Soup Kitchen. She will contribute to train and teach new skills to the women who live and work there. Nancy is a Business Administrator and has a bakery business.

What do you hope the impact of your collaboration with 3Love Inc. will be?

The idea from the beginning is that the Soup Kitchen becomes self-sustainable and that the moms become entrepreneurs in the bakery and pastry business and thus improve their lives and that of their families.

What aspect should humanity improve in 2023?

Today there is too much disunity. I think that if humanity had a little more empathy and detachment, things would be much better. When I mention detachment, I mean people who have more knowledge should teach others, training in a company should not always come from the employer, an employee could teach and train many more if it is in his capabilities and in his hands.

A manera de darle la bienvenida al 2023, todo el equipo de 3Love Inc. desea expresar cuáles son nuestros propósitos para el nuevo año. Cada integrante de la organización respondió a la pregunta: ¿Qué aspecto debería mejorar la humanidad en 2023?

A continuación, compartimos las respuestas de todo el equipo.

Vincent Gajewski III, Presidente:

“Mejoraría la unidad. Es decir, que las personas, los grupos y los países trabajen unidos por un objetivo común”.

Liza Comeford, Vicepresidente:

“Creo que debemos ser más compasivos con nosotros mismos y con los demás. Y no sólo con los humanos, sino también con los animales. Estoy orgullosa de formar parte de 3Love, donde ayudamos a niños con discapacidad y donamos alimentos y suministros a la Olla Común Yesenia Saenz de Huaycán. Todo lo que hacemos puede contribuir a hacer del mundo un lugar mejor para todos, y sé que seguiremos ayudando a los demás y mostrando compasión hacia todos”.

Christopher Gajewski, Tesorero:

“Creo que hay que ser más compasivos con la gente. Todo el mundo intenta hacer lo que puede a partir de sus propias experiencias vitales. No podemos entender ni imaginar por lo que pasa la gente a diario. Todo el mundo lucha e intenta mejorar, así que sé amable y compasivo. Échales una mano o escúchalos. Apoya a los que puedas porque la vida puede ser muy dura y parecer injusta. No hagas cosas por ira o venganza, porque eso no llena el vacío del dolor o la pena. Tenemos que mejorar para ayudar de la manera más óptima a las vidas que nos rodean, a las personas que nos rodean y por el bien de la Tierra”.

Rick Reynolds, Miembro de la Junta de Directiva:

“Hambre: hay cientos de miles de personas en el mundo, en todos los países del planeta, que pasan hambre hoy y la pasarán mañana y pasado mañana. Mi objetivo para la humanidad sería poder alimentar a estas personas con regularidad. El hambre es algo real y afecta a personas de todo el mundo, no sólo a las que viven en lugares remotos como África. Es humano querer que estas personas vivan y prosperen como los demás en este mundo. Pero se necesitaría la ayuda de todos los gobiernos para financiar este esfuerzo, que podría ser coordinado por las diversas organizaciones existentes que buscan “Alimentar a la gente”. Sólo entonces podría empezar a disminuir el hambre en el mundo y todas esas personas tendrían una necesidad básica en la vida: la posibilidad de comer a diario”.

Janeth Martínez, Coordinadora:

“Hay muchos aspectos que considerar en la realidad cruda del mundo de hoy. Siempre hablamos de pobreza, inclusión, discriminación, opresión y muchos más aspectos que afectan la sociedad y a cada individuo en el mundo. ¿Cómo mejoramos? Pienso que un factor sería tener más empatía y humildad. Empatía para poder aprender de sociedades diferentes a las de nosotros y humildad para poder recibir la información y aprender de ellas. Aun cuando las sociedades y personas son diferentes siempre hay algo que descubrir en ellas. Pienso que cuando vemos a alguien que es diferente a nosotros tenemos una versión de lo que es y no nos damos el tiempo de conocerlas especialmente cuando culpamos a la tecnología de nuestras acciones. La tecnología es un arma de doble filo: la podemos usar para lograr muchas cosas positivas y también para destruir el mundo”.

Renzo Semorile, Coordinador Asistente:

“Creo que la mejora debe empezar en uno mismo. Ya que cada persona en este mundo vive situaciones distintas, siento que es importante ver nuestro entorno inmediato y tratar que sea mejor, ya sea cuidando el ambiente, ayudando al prójimo de las diversas maneras que se puedan, tratándolos bien o con respeto y sobre todo agradeciendo a la vida por lo que tenemos. Si buscamos puntos en común para unirnos como sociedad en lugar de dividirnos, habremos dado un paso importante hacia el futuro”.

José Muñoz, Arquitecto:

“El respeto de los Derechos Humanos. Si bien es cierto la humanidad ha mejorado en estos últimos años, aún estamos muy cortos. Países como los islamistas están violando constantemente los Derechos Humanos, sobre todo los derechos de las mujeres, relegándolas a un segundo lugar. Es el caso, por mencionar solamente algunos, de Irán y Afganistán. Debemos mejorar mucho en el respeto de los Derechos Humanos”.

Dorys García, Voluntaria – Abastecimiento:

“Lo más fundamental es cuidar el medio ambiente y evitar el agua contaminada para asegurar la existencia de la vida humana y la vida en general. Debemos crecer en todos los aspectos de la vida, para ser mejores personas y apoyar al prójimo”.

José Cuba, Voluntario – Transporte:

“El aspecto a mejorar es la comunicación asertiva. Considero que si las personas empiezan a comunicarse de manera transparente y objetiva, sin ningún tipo de ambigüedad, lo que cada uno busca, quiere y anhela, se pueden evitar muchos conflictos y riñas. Todo esto es la base para lograr un objetivo que es el bien común, siempre pensando en el resto, ya que actualmente vemos en muchos países conflictos internos, que lo que cada uno busca es el bien propio y se olvidan del resto de personas. Creo que comunicando lo que uno quiere y lo que uno busca, puede haber claridad al momento de la toma de decisiones, entre otros”.

Juan Carlos Ugarelli, Redactor y editor del blog:

“Considero que a los seres humanos nos hace falta mejorar la capacidad de escuchar y entender al otro, especialmente a aquellos son diferentes a nosotros por su procedencia, edad, género, orientación sexual, religión, estado de salud o simplemente porque piensan distinto. Si nos ponemos en sus zapatos por un instante y tratamos de ver el mundo desde sus ojos, podremos comprenderlos mejor y encontrar coincidencias que nos ayuden a trabajar juntos para hacer de este planeta un hogar mejor para todos”.

Presentando a las nuevas integrantes de nuestro equipo

Queremos darle la bienvenida a Elodie y Nancy, las nuevas integrantes de la familia de 3Love Inc.

Elodie se une a nuestro equipo como traductora. Ella va a traducir nuestros artículos, entrevistas, cuentos y otros textos al idioma coreano. Ella es la representante de Kore Partners, una startup de consultoría de marketing y educación coreana.

¿Cuál esperas que sea el impacto de tu colaboración a 3Love Inc.?

Espero presentar 3Love y sus proyectos en favor de los Derechos Humanos a los coreanos y ayudar a los niños discapacitados de Corea del Sur a tener confianza en sí mismos y a soñar.

¿Qué aspecto debería mejorar la humanidad en 2023?

Creo que deberíamos actuar en lugar de decir en 2023. Tengo muchas ideas para ayudar a los demás y apoyar a los marginados. Puede que la gente ya sepa lo que tiene que hacer por este mundo. Sin embargo, no lo estamos haciendo; estamos poniendo excusas. Lo que aprendí de 3Love es que me enseñó que necesitamos HACER incluso un pequeño acto de bondad para cambiar el mundo.

Nancy Jo se integra a nuestro equipo como profesora del taller de repostería para la Olla Común Yesenia Saenz. Ella contribuirá a formar y enseñar nuevas habilidades a las mujeres que viven y laboran allí. Nancy es Administradora de Empresas y tiene un negocio de pastelería.

¿Cuál esperas que sea el impacto de tu colaboración a 3Love Inc.?

La idea desde el inicio es que el comedor se vuelva auto sostenible y que las mamás emprendan en el negocio de la panadería y pastelería y así mejoren sus vidas y la de su familia.

¿Qué aspecto debería mejorar la humanidad en 2023?

Hoy por hoy hay demasiada desunión. Creo que si la humanidad tuviera un poco más de empatía y desapego, las cosas estarían mucho mejor. Al mencionar el desapego, me refiero a que las personas que saben más deberían enseñar a los demás, la capacitación en una empresa no siempre debe venir de parte del empleador, un empleado podría enseñar y capacitar a muchos más si está en sus capacidades y en sus manos.
